DHC Warranty and Return Terms
Last updated: October 12, 2026
BY ACCEPTING DELIVERY OF, OR USING, A DHC COMPUTER SYSTEM, CUSTOMER AGREES TO THESE TERMS. IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. THESE TERMS CONTAIN A BINDING ARBITRATION AGREEMENT AND A WAIVER OF CLASS ACTION RIGHTS. THIS IS A "LIMITED WARRANTY" AS THAT TERM IS USED IN THE MAGNUSON-MOSS WARRANTY ACT. These Warranty and Return Terms ("Terms") govern the Limited Lifetime Service Policy and the Limited Hardware Warranties offered by DHC LLC, a California limited liability company ("DHC," "we," "our," or "us"), for new DHC computer systems ("Systems") purchased from DHC or from a reseller that DHC has authorized.
1. Who is covered; when coverage starts
The Limited Lifetime Service Policy and the Limited Hardware Warranties apply only to the original retail purchaser of a System ("Customer"), are non-transferable, and last only while Customer owns the System. [Coverage periods begin on the date the System is delivered to Customer, as shown on the purchase invoice. If there is no record of delivery to Customer, they begin [60] days after DHC shipped the System to its distributor.] To make a claim, Customer must give the System's serial number and proof of purchase.
2. Limited Lifetime Service Policy
The Limited Lifetime Service Policy is a "limited warranty" under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act solely for the labor services described here, and it is not a full warranty. It covers labor only. It does not extend the duration of any parts warranty, does not guarantee the future availability of components, and is not a service contract requiring DHC to repair or replace a System beyond these Terms. Under it, DHC will not charge Customer for labor to diagnose and repair covered hardware defects in the System for as long as Customer owns the System, the System remains in serviceable condition and commercially serviceable, and replacement parts are reasonably available in the marketplace (the "Service Lifetime"). The Service Lifetime excludes any period when replacement parts are obsolete, discontinued, or not reasonably obtainable through normal commercial channels, and DHC has no obligation to manufacture or source unavailable parts. The policy applies only to hardware originally installed by DHC and to upgrades purchased from and installed by DHC.
3. Desktop Limited Hardware Warranty
All new desktop computers include a three-year Limited Hardware Warranty (the "Desktop Hardware Warranty") on the Core Computer. "Core Computer" means the internal hardware inside the chassis as originally configured and assembled by DHC: motherboard, processor (CPU), graphics processing unit (GPU), memory (RAM), internal storage devices, and internal power supply. It excludes special-order components Customer specifically requested that are not part of DHC's standard configuration, monitors, peripherals, external accessories, cables, software, consumable components, and liquid-cooling components (which Section 5 governs). Monitors, peripherals, and external components that DHC supplies are warranted for one (1) year only. During the warranty, DHC will, at its sole option, repair or replace defective Core Computer components with new, used, refurbished, recertified, or comparable parts. If a repair or replacement is commercially impracticable because a component is discontinued, obsolete, or unavailable, DHC may instead provide a comparable replacement component, an in-store credit reflecting the fair market value of the affected component, or a refund reflecting its depreciated value. Replacement components may differ in brand or model but will be materially equivalent in performance and functionality. Warranty service does not extend the original warranty term, and a replacement component is warranted only for the rest of the original term.
4. Laptop Limited Hardware Warranty
All new laptop computers include a three-year Limited Hardware Warranty (the "Laptop Warranty"). The "Laptop System" means the portable computing device as originally assembled and configured by DHC, including its integrated motherboard, processor (CPU), graphics processing unit (GPU, if applicable), memory (RAM), internal storage, integrated display panel, keyboard, trackpad, internal battery, and factory-installed wireless components. The Laptop Warranty does not cover special-order components Customer requested that are not part of DHC's standard configuration, external peripherals, docking stations, adapters, external storage devices or accessories, software, consumable or cosmetic wear items, or damage from misuse, abuse, liquid intrusion, accidental damage, or operation outside recommended specifications. During the warranty, DHC will, at its sole option, repair the defective component, replace it with a new, refurbished, recertified, or materially equivalent component, or, if repair or replacement is commercially impracticable, provide a comparable replacement component, an in-store credit reflecting its fair market value, or a refund reflecting its depreciated value. Warranty service does not extend the original term, and a replacement component is warranted only for the rest of the original term.
5. Liquid cooling and customized Systems
Liquid-cooling components, including pumps, reservoirs, tubing, fittings, radiators, coolant, and custom-loop assemblies, are covered for one (1) year from delivery only, regardless of the longer warranty term for the Core Computer, and that one-year coverage applies to both parts and labor. Liquid-cooled and customized Systems involve elevated mechanical and thermal stress, more maintenance, and a higher risk of leakage or component failure. Coverage does not extend to damage from improper maintenance, failure to maintain or replace coolant at recommended intervals, user changes to tubing or fittings, transport damage after delivery, or operation outside recommended specifications. DHC is not liable for damage to other components from coolant leakage or pump failure after delivery, unless a manufacturing defect in DHC's installation directly caused it and it occurs within the one-year liquid-cooling coverage period. De-lidding, voltage modification, BIOS modification, or other performance-enhancement services done at Customer's request void warranty coverage for the affected components unless DHC agrees otherwise in writing.
6. Shipping and service procedures
(a) If a System is defective within the first thirty (30) days after delivery and Customer is in the continental United States, DHC will pay standard ground shipping both ways. Outside the continental United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, Customer pays shipping unless non-waivable law requires otherwise. (b) After the first thirty (30) days, if DHC authorizes a return, Customer pays shipping to DHC, and DHC will pay return shipping to Customer for up to one (1) year from delivery. After the first year, Customer pays all shipping both ways. (c) Customer must get a Return Merchandise Authorization ("RMA") number from DHC before shipping any System or component for service, and must display it on the outside of the package. DHC may refuse or return shipments without a valid RMA at Customer's expense. To open a claim, Customer gives the serial number, the purchase email or invoice, and a short description of the issue, and DHC may ask for logs, photos, or a short video. (d) Systems must ship in their original packaging, or packaging that gives equivalent protection, with copies of purchase receipts. DHC is not responsible for damage from inadequate packaging, and Customer is responsible for claims against the carrier for loss or damage before DHC receives the System. (e) DHC or its authorized service providers will diagnose the System and may update firmware, reinstall operating systems, reset BIOS settings, or run other reasonable diagnostics. (f) If DHC finds no defect, an issue the warranty does not cover, or damage from an excluded cause, DHC may charge a reasonable diagnostic and testing fee and may keep the System until that fee and any return shipping are paid. (g) Repair time estimates are not guaranteed. (h) Components replaced under warranty become DHC's property unless the law requires otherwise. (i) DHC may refuse service on Systems that are contaminated, biohazardous, excessively dirty, pest-infested, or otherwise unsafe to handle. (j) If Customer does not pay required charges or give shipping instructions within thirty (30) days after notice that service is complete or charges are due, the System may be treated as abandoned and, to the extent the law permits, disposed of or recycled, with any proceeds applied to charges owed.
7. Warranty limitations and exclusions
Repairs, upgrades, or installations by anyone other than DHC or its authorized service providers may void the warranties to the extent they caused or contributed to a defect, but nothing here voids coverage for unrelated components where the law requires otherwise. The warranties do not cover damage from misuse, abuse, neglect, accidental or physical damage, drops, liquid spills or intrusion, improper storage, installation, or maintenance, unauthorized modification, overclocking beyond specification, extreme environmental conditions, inadequate ventilation, power surges, lightning, improper electrical supply, or operation beyond rated thermal, electrical, or voltage specifications. Customer must maintain the System according to DHC's recommended care guidelines. Used or recertified equipment is sold as-is without warranty unless the purchase invoice says otherwise in writing. Special-order components carry only their own component maker's warranty. Software is not covered. DHC does not guarantee specific performance benchmarks, frame rates, overclock stability, compatibility with third-party software, or compatibility with future hardware or software, and marketing statements are illustrative only. COMMERCIAL AND HIGH-RISK USE: SYSTEMS ARE NOT DESIGNED OR WARRANTED FOR USE IN LIFE-SUPPORT SYSTEMS, MEDICAL DEVICES, AVIATION, NUCLEAR FACILITIES, AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEMS, WEAPONS SYSTEMS, OR OTHER INHERENTLY HAZARDOUS OR HIGH-RISK APPLICATIONS WHERE FAILURE COULD CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY OR SUBSTANTIAL PROPERTY DAMAGE. CUSTOMER ASSUMES ALL RISK FOR SUCH USES AND AGREES TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD DHC HARMLESS FROM CLAIMS ARISING FROM THEM.
8. Customer data and patient data
PATIENT DATA: ALL PATIENT DATA, INCLUDING PROTECTED HEALTH INFORMATION, PATIENT RECORDS, IMAGES, AND CHARTS, MUST BE REMOVED FROM ANY SYSTEM BEFORE IT IS SENT TO DHC OR ITS AUTHORIZED SERVICE PROVIDERS FOR SERVICE OR RETURN. DHC DOES NOT ACCEPT PATIENT DATA AND IS NOT A BUSINESS ASSOCIATE FOR IT. DHC MAY REFUSE, RETURN AT CUSTOMER'S EXPENSE, OR ERASE ANY SYSTEM THAT CONTAINS PATIENT DATA, AND CUSTOMER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY RESULTING CLAIM. OTHER DATA: Customer is solely responsible for backing up, archiving, and protecting all data, software, digital licenses, and configuration settings on any System at all times. BEFORE SENDING ANY SYSTEM FOR SERVICE, CUSTOMER MUST BACK UP ALL DATA AND REMOVE OR SECURE ANY CONFIDENTIAL, PROPRIETARY, OR PERSONAL INFORMATION. Warranty service may require storage device replacement, reformatting, reimaging, or complete data erasure, and Customer authorizes DHC to access, modify, erase, or replace storage devices as reasonably necessary and to dispose of defective storage media securely. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DHC IS NOT LIABLE FOR LOSS OF DATA, SOFTWARE, LICENSE KEYS, DIGITAL ASSETS, OR STORED MEDIA, OR FOR DATA CORRUPTION, UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE. DHC does not warrant that any storage device will be free from failure and has no duty to recover, transfer, or restore data from a replaced device. Customer warrants that no illegal data, unlawful content, or regulated information, including export-controlled data, protected health information, or classified materials, is on any System submitted for service.
9. Return policy
All product returns must take place within thirty (30) days of purchase and are subject to a twenty percent (20%) restocking fee, whether a refund is requested before or after the System ships. Customer pays shipping on any return. DHC will not accept a return after thirty (30) days without prior written authorization from an authorized DHC team member, and if approved it carries a restocking fee of twenty percent (20%) of the purchase price. All deposits to hold, reserve, or custom-configure merchandise are non-refundable. All liquid-cooled, custom-loop, or heavily customized Systems are subject to the same twenty percent (20%) restocking fee on cancellation or authorized return, because of the custom labor, non-returnable components, and reduced resale value involved. Microsoft Windows and Office products, digital license keys, downloadable software, and any activated or electronically delivered software will not be accepted for return, refund, or credit at any time. Customer acknowledges that Systems are custom-configured and that the restocking fee is a reasonable estimate of administrative costs, payment processing fees, configuration labor, inspection, testing, inventory depreciation, and resale risk, and is not a penalty. [For Systems bought from an authorized reseller, returns are made through that reseller or as DHC directs.] Nothing in this Section limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable consumer protection law.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
EXCEPT FOR THE EXPRESS LIMITED WARRANTIES IN THESE TERMS, SYSTEMS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DHC DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING, COURSE OF PERFORMANCE, OR USAGE OF TRADE. WHERE A WRITTEN WARRANTY IS PROVIDED, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY THAT CANNOT BE DISCLAIMED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW IS LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE APPLICABLE EXPRESS WARRANTY PERIOD IN THESE TERMS. NO ORAL OR WRITTEN INFORMATION, STATEMENT, MARKETING MATERIAL, OR ADVICE FROM DHC, ITS RESELLERS, OR THEIR REPRESENTATIVES CREATES ANY WARRANTY OR EXPANDS ANY EXPRESS WARRANTY UNLESS THE PURCHASE INVOICE EXPRESSLY INCORPORATES IT. DHC DOES NOT WARRANT THAT ANY SYSTEM WILL OPERATE WITHOUT INTERRUPTION OR ERROR, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED IN EVERY INSTANCE, OR THAT THE SYSTEM WILL MEET CUSTOMER'S PARTICULAR REQUIREMENTS. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO THESE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU TO THE EXTENT THE LAW PROHIBITS THEM.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DHC IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, TREBLE, STATUTORY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, USE, GOODWILL, REVENUE, OR ANTICIPATED SAVINGS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, COST OF SUBSTITUTE EQUIPMENT OR SERVICES, OR RELIANCE OR EXPECTATION DAMAGES, WHETHER OR NOT FORESEEABLE. DHC IS NOT LIABLE FOR CLAIMS BY THIRD PARTIES, INCLUDING CUSTOMER'S PATIENTS, CUSTOMERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, OR AFFILIATES, EXCEPT WHERE THE LAW DOES NOT PERMIT THE LIMITATION. DHC'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO ANY SYSTEM, SERVICE, OR TRANSACTION, UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT CUSTOMER ACTUALLY PAID FOR THE SPECIFIC SYSTEM GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, AND THAT CAP APPLIES IN THE AGGREGATE TO ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE SAME SYSTEM OR TRANSACTION. THE REMEDIES IN THESE TERMS ARE CUSTOMER'S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDIES, AND CUSTOMER WAIVES ANY RIGHT TO RESCISSION, REVOCATION OF ACCEPTANCE, OR COVER, EXCEPT WHERE THE LAW PROHIBITS THE WAIVER. THESE LIMITATIONS APPLY EVEN IF A LIMITED REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE, AND DHC HAS PRICED ITS PRODUCTS IN RELIANCE ON THEM. TO THE EXTENT THE LAW PERMITS, ANY ACTION ARISING OUT OF THE PURCHASE OF A SYSTEM OR THESE TERMS MUST BE STARTED WITHIN ONE (1) YEAR AFTER THE CLAIM ACCRUES. NOTHING IN THIS SECTION LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE DISCLAIMED OR LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, INCLUDING LIABILITY FOR PERSONAL INJURY FROM A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT.
12. Binding arbitration and class action waiver
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS. Except for claims properly brought in small claims court on an individual basis, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to the purchase, marketing, warranty, service, use, or performance of any System, or relating to these Terms ("Disputes"), will be resolved exclusively by final and binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect, and must be filed within the time limit in Section 11. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this arbitration agreement. The arbitrator, and not a court, decides any dispute about the interpretation, applicability, enforceability, formation, or scope of this arbitration provision. The party bringing a Dispute must first send written notice describing it and the relief sought, and the parties will try in good faith to resolve it for sixty (60) days before any arbitration is filed. DHC will pay arbitration filing, administrative, and arbitrator fees only as the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules require, Customer pays the initial filing fee those rules require unless the arbitrator reallocates fees as the law allows, and each party bears its own attorneys' fees unless the arbitrator awards fees as contract or law permits. Disputes may be brought only in an individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated, representative, private attorney general, or mass proceeding, and Customer waives any right to take part in or recover from such an action to the maximum extent the law permits. If twenty-five (25) or more arbitration demands asserting similar claims are filed against DHC by or with the help of the same or coordinated counsel, the AAA will administer them in batches of no more than ten (10) at a time, and each batch will be resolved before the next is filed or administered. If the arbitrator finds that a claim or defense was asserted in bad faith or to harass or gain improper leverage, the arbitrator may award reasonable attorneys' fees and costs to the prevailing party as the law permits. Customer may opt out of this arbitration agreement by written notice to DHC within thirty (30) days of purchase that includes Customer's name, order number, and a clear statement that Customer opts out. If any part of this Section is held unenforceable and a Dispute proceeds in court, California law governs, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and exclusive venue is in the state or federal courts located in [county], California. If a provision of this Section is held unenforceable as applied to a group of claims, it is severed and the rest of the arbitration agreement remains enforceable.
13. Title, risk of loss, and shipping damage
For the initial shipment of a new System to Customer, title and risk of loss pass to Customer when the System is delivered to the carrier, unless DHC agrees otherwise in writing. For return shipments from DHC after repair or replacement, risk of loss passes to Customer when DHC delivers the System to the carrier. For shipments from Customer to DHC for service, risk of loss stays with Customer until DHC actually receives the System at its designated service facility. Customer must inspect each shipment promptly and notify DHC in writing of any visible shipping damage within forty-eight (48) hours of receipt. Failing to do so may limit DHC's ability to help with carrier claims.
14. Changes and general terms
DHC may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect when a System was purchased governs the warranty rights and obligations for that System, and updates apply only to later purchases and later services. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable law. If any provision is held unenforceable, it is enforced to the maximum extent allowed and the rest of these Terms stay in effect.
