Transforming Virtual Meetings: DHC’s Evolution from VR to AR

At VHS, our journey into the world of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) began in 2020, amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a secondary company to DHC, we were determined to revolutionize virtual meetings, especially during a time when shutdowns and restrictions limited in-person interactions.

We launched a VR platform to enhance virtual meetings on platforms like Zoom and Skype, offering features such as virtual reality conferences, lectures, and a VR marketing room for dental products. The platform garnered attention for its immersive experience and high retention rates, making meetings more interactive and engaging.

However, we soon recognized the limitations of VR headsets, including user-friendliness and motion sickness issues. To address these challenges, we transitioned to AR technology, which eliminates the need for a VR headset and allows users to access high-quality content using just a mobile device.

This transition was not only a strategic move but also a testament to our commitment to innovation and user satisfaction. We believe that our experience with VR and AR technology sets us apart in the industry, showcasing our dedication to providing cutting-edge solutions for dental professionals.

We were honored to be featured in DDHK magazine, where we had the opportunity to speak about our journey and the impact of our work. Kristy Montoya, the Editor-in-Chief, has been a fantastic supporter of our innovations, and we are grateful for the platform she has provided us to share our story.

As we continue to evolve and grow, we remain dedicated to pushing the boundaries of virtual solutions, making meetings more accessible, engaging, and impactful for all.
